Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Had the T-bone with chips and veg. Quite honestly one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Sides were absolutely delicious. Crunchy veg and perfect chips. The atmosphere and service were top notch. The small touches like bread and butter and complimentary house-made fudge that came with the bill made it extra special. Highly recommended!"
"Very friendly staff and great food. The food menu is small but the choices are very good. The steak was perfect and they had great fries. Very nice chimichurry. The wine menu is large. Price wise quite cheap."
"Our evening was made perfect by one of those perfect windless Spring evenings. I could not fault anything on the night. Blessing and Taku were great in service. Great T Bone with the best Tallow fried chipsMy wife opted for Ramen and loved it. Wonderful wine served in elegant stemware rounded off the experience."
"We popped in for a quick dinner after rugby on a Saturday : what a massive surprise. Incredible wines at fair prices (for what they are), a specialized but generous menu and the kind of meal where every item feels thoroughly thought through and prepared with extraordinary attention to detail. Steak, chips, bearnaise, chimichurri & risotto each exquisitely prepared. Attentive service & good suggestions from the servers. We met chef Phillip & told him that his pastry chef partner’s panna cotta dessert was the best dessert we’ve ever had! Ambiance is cosy & relaxed, cool music, tiny bistro style: we felt like we’d discovered a hidden gem!"
"Absolutely amazing food, we had the t-bone steak to share and hit the spot so well. It was cooked to perfection and presented in such a professional way. I truly hope the chef feels proud every day because he is top of his class. Was also impressed with the amazing Chimichurri sauce not everyone can make a decent one so very well done on that. Bravo!"
"We had an excellent lunch at Ryan Boon Steak and Chips, where we enjoyed Beef Filet and had the opportunity to try wines from Boekenhoutskloof Winery. The winery is famous for the Chocolate Block, but their premium wines are also excellent and we loved them. The service was fantastic, and the sommeliers did a great job. Definitely worth a visit."
"Had a great meal here. Possibly one of the best burgers I’ve eaten! Many thanks to Taku and Zodwa for great service also!"
"My wife and I have been to this restaurant many times and so enjoyed it that we decided to take some friends there for dinner last Thursday. The service was great and the venue perfect. We were however, completely let down by the meal. One of our guests and myself ordered the fillet steak. My quest's steak was so full of sinue it was hardly edible in my opinion and my steak, having requested medium rare, was overdone. I did complain and my guests was offended a free scoop of icecream. Sadly a very disappointing experience. Perhaps it was a new chef? We will however persevere and come again as we know you can do better."
